Featured Baptist: A brother named Christian

CHRISTIAN.—A.D. 1555

In this year 1555, a brother named Christian, was apprehended, in Bavaria, and brought to ‘Worms ; and although he had not been long a member of the church, yet he Steadfastly adhered to the truth which he had received and confessed. He held fast even unto death that which he had promised before God, in the covenant of Christian baptism, and through the divine power and strength attested his faith with his blood. He was executed by the sword at Worms ; he fought a good fight ; he contended for the truth, and finished his course with joy ; he yielded to no temptation, but would rather die courageously, than live disgracefully. Therefore is the crown of righteousness promised him, which the Lord shall give him at the last day, with all those that love his appearing.
